Haryana New Electric Bus: 100 new electric buses are expected for the city bus service in Gurugram, which can come into service by the end of June. Final approval from the state government is awaited for this. According to officials of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), the financial bid of this tender has been approved, and now the technical and financial bids will be discussed in a high-level committee meeting.

This scheme is an important step to further strengthen the transport network of Gurugram, as it will help in reducing pollution in the city and increasing travel facilities. Along with this, it will also contribute to the protection of the environment through electric buses. After the allocation of the tender, the responsibility of bus operation will be handed over to the selected company, which will provide service at a rate of Rs 63.50 per kilometer.

Commenting on this new initiative, GMDA General Manager (Mobility) RD Singhal said that the additional 100 electric buses will improve the public transport system of Gurugram. This will provide better service to passengers traveling on more routes in the city, and reduce dependence on private vehicles, which can also solve the traffic problem.

Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited

Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) is currently providing service with 150 buses on 23 routes. However, officials believe that this fleet is not enough to meet the increasing demand of passengers.

Currently, looking at the number of passengers, this number needs to be increased. According to officials, this tender is expected to be completed soon, and by the end of June new buses will come to the city and revamp the entire system. This will increase the total number of GMCBL fleet to 250, which will bring a big change in the city’s transport facilities.
