Rivaba Jadeja, wife of Indian cricket team’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and Gujarat’s Education Minister, is once again in the headlines. In an old video that recently went viral, Rivaba, while praising her husband, made serious allegations against other Indian team players of “addiction” or “misconduct” during foreign tours. This statement has sparked a huge controversy in the cricket world and on social media.

Controversial comments made by Ravindra Jadeja’s wife

Rivaba Jadeja gave a speech at the Vidya Samman ceremony of Deepsinghji Dhrrol Bhayat Rajput Hostel held in Jamnagar. Advising people to stay away from drug addiction, she cited the example of her husband Ravindra Jadeja. Rivaba said, “My husband has to travel to many countries like London, Dubai, Australia to play, yet he has never been addicted to drugs. All the other players in the team do wrong things.”

She further stated that she has no restrictions. Jadeja doesn’t do this because he understands his responsibility. Although she didn’t name any players, her statement is being seen as a general accusation against the entire Indian cricket team. The video is said to be about a month old, but recently sparked controversy after going viral on social media. Many users are criticizing Rivaba, while others have dismissed her statement as a personal opinion.

Rivaba Jadeja won the Jamnagar North seat in the last Gujarat Assembly elections and became an MLA. She was recently inducted into the Gujarat Cabinet, becoming the state’s youngest and wealthiest minister. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja is returning to the Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2026.

He was a key member of the Chennai Super Kings until last season, but was acquired by the Royals in a major trade deal ahead of the mega auction. In this trade, Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson went to the Chennai Super Kings, while Rajasthan received Jadeja and England all-rounder Sam Curran.
