Former Indian cricketer and Chennai Super Kings player Kedar Jadhav joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday. He became a part of the ruling party in the presence of the BJP state president Chandrashekar Bawankule in Mumbai. News agency ANI shared a video of Kedar Jadhav joining the BJP. In the video, Jadhav is seen wearing a BJP turban.

Retired Last Year

Kedar Jadhav retired from international cricket on June 3 last year. After his retirement, he was also seen doing commentary. Born in Pune, Maharashtra, Jadhav made his debut for India in 2014. His first international match was an ODI against Sri Lanka.

Jadhav’s Career in International Cricket

The right-handed batsman played 73 ODIs for India and scored 1389 runs. His ODI stats include two centuries and six half-centuries.
He also played 9 T20Is, scoring 122 runs with one half-century. In bowling, he took 27 wickets in ODIs.

Domestic Career

Jadhav was an important middle-order batter for Maharashtra in domestic cricket. He played 87 first-class matches and scored 6100 runs, which included 17 centuries and 23 half-centuries.

Special Bond with MS Dhoni

Jadhav is known to be close to former India captain MS Dhoni. He played most of his international matches under Dhoni’s captaincy. In the IPL, he also played for Chennai Super Kings, where Dhoni was the captain.

Jadhav’s IPL Journey

Apart from CSK, Kedar also played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Delhi Daredevils. He made his IPL debut in 2010 and continued till 2021. In total, he played 93 IPL matches and scored 1196 runs, including four half-centuries.
