New Delhi: The sixth match of the Indian Premier League was played between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad won this match comfortably, marking the second consecutive defeat for KKR this season.
In this contest, the young and explosive batsman Abhishek Sharma put on a spectacular batting display that took the match by storm. However, following the match, the BCCI took strict action against him. The BCCI imposed a heavy fine on him for violating the IPL Code of Conduct. Consequently, a deduction has been made from Abhishek Sharma’s match fee.

Abhishek Sharma’s Match Fee Deduction
A decision has been taken to deduct 25 per cent of Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Abhishek Sharma’s match fee. Additionally, a demerit point has been added to his record for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct.
He admitted to committing a Level 1 offence under Article 2.3 and accepted the sanction imposed by the Match Referee. The statement issued by the IPL did not specify the exact reason for Abhishek’s punishment; however, Article 2.3 typically pertains to the use of inappropriate language or expletives during a match.

A Blistering Innings Against Kolkata
Abhishek Sharma created a sensation with his batting performance against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Batting at a strike rate of 228.57, he smashed 48 runs off just 21 deliveries. His innings featured 4 fours and 4 sixes. Abhishek also set a significant record during this match.
He became only the second player—after David Warner—to hit over 100 sixes for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. He now has 101 sixes to his name. As for the match itself, Sunrisers Hyderabad set a target of 227 runs; however, KKR was bowled out for 161 runs in just 16 overs.
