The Delhi Capitals team defeated Lucknow Super Giants by one wicket in a thrilling match in the fourth game of IPL 2025. Lucknow batted first and scored 209 runs. In response, Delhi chased down the target, losing 9 wickets in the final over. The hero of the match was Ashutosh Sharma, but several players from the Lucknow team turned out to be the ‘villains’ of the game.
Rishabh Pant: The Biggest Flop Show
Rishabh Pant made a big mistake in this match and handed the win to Delhi. In the last over, Delhi needed only 6 runs to win. Shahbaz Ahmed bowled the final over for Lucknow, with Mohit Sharma on strike instead of Ashutosh. Shahbaz delivered a brilliant flighted ball, which Mohit missed. In the process, Mohit stepped out of his crease. The ball turned sharply past his bat, giving Rishabh Pant a golden opportunity to stump him. However, Pant failed to collect the ball cleanly, giving Mohit an easy life. This moment turned the match completely in Delhi’s favor. Pant’s overall performance was poor as he scored a duck and made questionable decisions as captain.
Blind slogger sympathy merchant Rishabh Pant gone for 6 balls duck.
He had created a ecosystem which presented him as a big match winner and a great clutch player, media people & commentators even hyped him in T2OIs & ODIs.

Ayush Badoni Fails Again
Lucknow Super Giants have consistently trusted Ayush Badoni, but he was disappointed once more. He scored only 4 runs from 5 balls when the team needed him to guide them to a strong total. His early dismissal cost the team momentum, and instead of reaching a score near 250, Lucknow could only manage 209 runs.

Shahbaz Ahmed’s Poor Performance
Shahbaz Ahmed was another big letdown for the Lucknow team. He scored only 9 runs from 8 balls with the bat and struggled in his bowling. Shahbaz bowled 1.3 overs, giving away 22 runs without taking a wicket. Adding to this, he conceded the winning six in the final moments of the game, sealing Lucknow’s defeat.
