De Kock broke several records with his century. This was his seventh ODI century against India. With this, he became the wicketkeeper and batsman with the most ODI centuries against a single team. He also broke Adam Gilchrist’s world record. Gilchrist had scored six centuries against Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara also scored six centuries against India. De Kock has now become the first batsman in the world to achieve this feat.

This was De Kock’s seventh ODI century in India. He alsoequalleddd Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most ODI centuries in a single country outside his home country. Sachin Tendulkar scored seven centuries in the UAE. Pakistan’s Saeed Anwar has scored seven ODI centuries in the UAE, South Africa’s AB de Villiers has scored seven ODI centuries in India, and India’s Rohit Sharma has scored seven ODI centuries in England.
