New Delhi: Pakistan’s performance in the Champions Trophy 2025 has been nothing short of a disaster. The team made unwanted history by becoming the first-ever host nation to fail to win a single match in the tournament. Their poor performance has led to widespread criticism, with former Pakistani cricketers and fans mocking both the team and PCB management.
One of the most viral moments of this criticism comes from former wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal, who took a brutal dig at Pakistan’s team selection and balance. A video of his comments has been making rounds on the internet.
Pakistan’s Early Exit from the Tournament
Pakistan’s campaign began with a defeat against New Zealand in their opening match at home. Their second game against India ended in another loss, resulting in their elimination from the tournament. Throughout the competition, Pakistan’s batting and bowling units failed to perform, with captain Mohammad Rizwan and star batter Babar Azam facing heavy criticism for their underwhelming performances. The bowling attack also struggled, failing to make an impact in crucial moments.
Kamran Akmal’s Viral Statement on Pakistan Team
A video clip from a Pakistani TV show has gone viral, where the show’s host angrily states that Pakistan lost the tournament the moment the squad was announced. He questioned the team’s overall balance, to which Kamran Akmal sarcastically responded,
“If you make all 15 players stand on a rooftop, they will fall off! There is simply no balance in this team.”
Akmal’s statement reflects the growing frustration among cricket experts and fans over Pakistan’s poor team selection and lack of strategy in major ICC tournaments.
