Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been left out of the three-match ODI series between India A and South Africa A, scheduled to be held in Rajkot from November 13 to 19. The series is being organised to give the players match practice ahead of the ODI series against South Africa.
Both players will not play in the series
Although there was speculation that these two experienced players might be included in the A team, the senior selection committee decided against doing so. The BCCI did not clarify whether they had informed Rohit and Kohli about the possibility of playing for India A before the ODI series against South Africa.
Tilak Verma will be the captain
Tilak Varma will captain the India A team for this ODI series, with Ruturaj Gaikwad as the vice-captain. Abhishek Sharma, the world’s No. 1 T20 batsman, is also part of the ODI squad. Ishan Kishan and Riyan Parag are also included in the squad. Fast bowlers Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, and Prasidh Krishna are also part of the squad.
