After winning their sixth gold medal in the Women’s T20 final of the South East Asia (SEA) Games 2025, the Thailand women’s cricket team bid an emotional farewell to two of its key players, Nattaya Boochatham and Rosenanee Kanoh. This match not only witnessed a historic victory for Thailand but also signaled the end of an era in women’s cricket.

A couple of cricketers retired from international cricket

39-year-old Nattaya Boochatham had already confirmed that the SEA Games final would be the last match of her international career. Boochatham, who has been the backbone of the Thailand team for over a decade, is known as a reliable top-order batsman and an effective spinner. In her illustrious career, Nattaya Boochatham has scored 1035 runs and taken 126 wickets in 116 T20 Internationals. She also has 165 runs and 12 wickets in 13 ODIs.

Her consistency and all-round performance have made her one of Thailand’s most effective bowlers. Nattaya Boochatham has been Thailand’s most reliable player in ICC and ACC tournaments over the past ten years. She represented the country in the 2020 Women’s T20 World Cup and was also a key part of the team that recently won the ICC Women’s Emerging Cricket Trophy 2025.

Meanwhile, all-rounder Rosenan Kanoh also retired from international action in the SEA Games final. The 26-year-old Kanoh performed brilliantly under pressure in the final. Chasing a target of 59, Thailand were in trouble at 19/3 when Kanoh came to the crease.Kanoh batted with composure and confidence, leading his team to victory in the final.

Kanoh equalized the score with a brilliant six and then hit the winning run to secure the gold medal for Thailand. With this brilliant innings, he brought a memorable end to his international career. He played international cricket for Thailand for six years. Kanoh, who made her debut in August 2019, has played 49 T20I matches, scoring 219 runs, and taking three wickets. He also scored 100 runs in nine ODIs.
