Arshdeep Singh showed what he can do whenever he gets a chance to perform for team India. For the third match of the T20Is series against Australia, Arshdeep came into the playing XI and got wickets.
The third match proved how big a mistake India made by leaving fast bowler Arshdeep Singh out of the playing eleven for the Australia tour. Coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav did not give him a chance to play in two consecutive matches.
Fans were furious over Harshit Rana
Many fans and cricket pundits were furious over Harshit Rana’s inclusion in the playing eleven. The coach and captain selected him as a fast bowler, while Arshdeep, the highest wicket-taker in T20s, was forced to sit out. Gambhir and Surya’s strategy did not prove effective in the first two matches, and they decided to field three changes in the third match.
India made the difficult decision to make significant changes after falling behind in the five-match T20 series against Australia. Coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav dropped wicketkeeper Sanju Samson from the playing XI for this crucial match, replacing him with Jitesh Sharma. Harshit Rana and Kuldeep Yadav were also left out of the squad. Washington Sundar and Arshdeep Singh were fielded.
Arshdeep Singh proved himself again
The pressure on the bowler came after coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav left Arshdeep Singh out, drawing widespread criticism. He came on for the third T20I against Australia and took the wicket of dangerous opener Travis Head on the fourth ball of his first over. He came on to bowl the next over and had Josh Inglis caught by Axar Patel for just 1 run on the third ball. He took two wickets in six balls to give India an early lead and staged a strong comeback.
