Abhishek Sharma Shatters Records: First Indian Batsman to Reach 500 Runs in 2025

Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma played an innings of 40 runs against the Mumbai Indians. He hit seven boundaries in his knock. However, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team could not perform as expected at the Wankhede Stadium and scored 162 runs for losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Abhishek and Travis Head added 59 runs for the first wicket. He also achieved a big milestone during his innings.

Abhishek Sharma Created History in T20 Cricket

Abhishek Sharma scored 40 runs in 28 balls against the Mumbai Indians. During this innings, he became the first Indian batsman to cross 500 runs in T20 cricket in 2025. So far, he has scored 511 runs in 12 innings this year.

Apart from him, no other Indian batsman has reached even the 400-run mark. Tilak Verma is second on this list with 343 runs in 10 innings. Sai Sudharsan is third, having scored 329 runs in 6 innings.

Big Knocks Against England and Punjab Kings

This year, Abhishek played a strong innings of 79 runs against England at Eden Gardens. Later, he smashed 135 runs with the help of 13 sixes and 7 fours at Wankhede Stadium.

Abhishek has also done well in IPL 2025. He scored 24 runs against the Rajasthan Royals. In the next four matches, he could score only 27 runs combined. But he returned to form against Punjab Kings and played a brilliant innings of 141 runs.
