Skoda Superb Diesel India – Luxury Sedan Returns with Powerful 2.0L TDI Engine, Check Features

Skoda Superb Diesel India: If you are looking for a spacious, comfortable sedan that exudes status, there is excellent news from Skoda. The company has unveiled the fourth-generation Superb for the Indian market; notably, this version will be available with a diesel engine.

Skoda’s new Superb is arriving in India with a diesel engine—marking the company’s return to diesel power since 2020. Scheduled for launch by June 2027, it is set to compete with the Toyota Camry. This marks the return of the diesel engine Skoda dropped from its lineup in 2020. Let’s take a closer look at the new Superb TDI.

Price and Launch

Skoda has not yet revealed the pricing, but it is expected to be more expensive than the Camry, which is priced between ₹48.69 lakh and ₹48.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Superb Diesel is expected to launch in India by June 2027. This timeline will allow Skoda to determine the pricing strategically, with estimates suggesting a price point around ₹60 lakh. In India, it will be available exclusively in the top-spec Laurin & Klement trim.

Design

Regarding its design, the ‘Ice Tea’ colour showcased for the Indian market gives the car a regal appearance. Additionally, colour options such as Pebble Silver, Carmine Red, Cobalt Blue, Ebony Black, Graphite Grey, Energy Blue, and Purity White will be available.

The vehicle features 18-inch alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlights, a large ‘butterfly’ grille, C-shaped LED taillights, and a practical hatchback-style tailgate. It offers 645 litres of boot space—ample for any family—and includes through-loading.

Cabin

The Superb arriving in India does not feature a sunroof, and frankly, it isn’t needed; the expansive glass area already gives the cabin an airy, spacious feel. The rear seats offer ample knee room, headroom, and shoulder room for three passengers, complemented by premium Cognac leather upholstery, reading lights, dedicated climate zones, and sunshades.

Up front, the car comes with a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, a digital driver’s cockpit, a 14-speaker Canton sound system, 10 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and Level-2 ADAS. The front seats are particularly impressive, offering power adjustment, heating, ventilation, and massage functions.

Engine

The powertrain offers only one option: a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine producing 147 bhp and 360 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. Power is delivered exclusively to the front wheels. Notably, rear-seat passengers miss out on features like powered recline, ventilated seats, or massage functions—amenities that are available even in the lower-tier Slavia.
