Toyota Glanza Facelift Teaser: A teaser for the Toyota Glanza facelift has been released ahead of its launch on October 14. The teaser offers a glimpse of the car’s front design, grille, and bumper styling, although Toyota has not yet fully revealed the vehicle. Along with a new design, the car is expected to feature upgrades, an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), and a new petrol engine. Anticipated additions include new features, Level 2 ADAS, a 1.2-litre petrol engine, and a CNG option. Let’s take a closer look at the details.
New Front Design
The teaser for the Toyota Glanza facelift focuses primarily on its front profile. The car features the Toyota logo on the bonnet, positioned above a trim element with a metallic finish. Additionally, the grille is framed by a thick silver border and showcases a black honeycomb pattern.
Silver-finished borders are visible on both sides of the lower section of the grille. A red, body-coloured strip separates the grille from the lower bumper. The lower bumper sports a dark finish, while a distinct lamp housing is visible near the grille.
New Features
The new Glanza is expected to undergo changes not only in design but also in terms of features. Toyota is likely to incorporate new features found in the updated Baleno, such as ventilated front seats, a wireless charging pad with active cooling, and Clarion speakers.
Beyond these features, there is speculation that the Toyota Glanza facelift will include Level 2 ADAS. This system could encompass features like automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, high-beam assist, and adaptive cruise control. However, Toyota has not yet officially confirmed these features.
New 1.2-litre Petrol Engine
Significant changes are expected in the engine of the new Toyota Glanza. Reports suggest it may feature a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine—the same unit used in the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Dzire, and the updated Baleno. This engine is likely to replace the current Glanza’s four-cylinder petrol unit.
In terms of transmission, it is expected to offer five-speed manual and five-speed AMT gearbox options. Additionally, a factory-fitted CNG option is expected to be retained. Reports also indicate the possibility of an AMT gearbox being paired with the CNG variant.
Competition
In the Indian market, the Toyota Glanza facelift will compete against premium hatchbacks such as the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, and Maruti Suzuki Baleno. The Toyota Glanza facelift is scheduled to launch on October 14; details regarding its price, variants, mileage, and features are expected to be revealed soon.
