Samsung has released teasers for its upcoming foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, in the Indian market; these devices are expected to officially launch at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, 2026.
Through Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, the company has hinted at new designs and form factors using everyday objects like chocolate bars, pizza slices, and puzzle pieces, placing special emphasis on improved aspect ratios and usability.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is likely to feature a 7.6-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a 200MP primary camera, and a 4,800–5,000mAh battery. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 may come with a 6.9-inch foldable display, a 4.1-inch cover display, an Exynos 2500 or 2600 chipset, and a 4,300mAh battery.
Their expected price ranges in India are estimated to be ₹1,74,999–₹1,79,999 and ₹1,09,999–₹1,14,999, respectively, although the company has not yet confirmed official pricing. Reports also suggest that Samsung is working on new variants like the Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Wide Fold, aiming to further strengthen its foothold in the foldable segment.
The company’s focus extends beyond merely upgrading specifications; it aims to make foldable phones more durable, lightweight, and practical, having worked on thinner hinges, lighter frames, and more robust displays to achieve this. Both these phones are all set to make a strong entry into the premium smartphone market and will compete directly with foldables from other brands; however, all current information is based on leaks and speculations, as Samsung has not yet announced any official specifications or pricing.
