Xiaomi has announced the global launch date for the Redmi Note 17 series. Comprising three models, the series will feature a powerful battery and a premium display. So, let’s examine the phone’s features.
Global Launch Date
These smartphones from the Xiaomi sub-brand have already debuted in China (back in July), and the company is now preparing to introduce them to markets worldwide. Through a post on X, Xiaomi revealed that the Redmi Note 17 series will launch globally on August 27. Additionally, a new microsite has gone live on Xiaomi’s global website, confirming that the series will include a new model: the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. This means the global lineup will feature three models: the Redmi Note 17, Note 17 Pro, and Note 17 Pro Max.

Design
In terms of design, the company is introducing photochromic technology. Redmi states that the phone incorporates a new “Cloud Blush” element that changes colour when exposed to sunlight—offering an experience similar to a chameleon changing its colours.
Display and Processor
The devices will feature a 6.83-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution. Regarding performance, the handsets will be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset and come with up to 24GB of RAM.
The company claims that users will benefit from “72-month fluency protection,” ensuring the phone continues to run smoothly over the long term. The microsite also reveals that these smartphones will come with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, offering excellent protection against both dust and water.

Camera and Battery
The company has not yet disclosed many camera details, but it has confirmed that the Note 17 series will feature AI-powered portrait enhancement. A camera sample shared by the company also highlights specifications such as an f/1.5 aperture, 26mm focal length, 1/60-second shutter speed, and ISO 125.
However, the standout feature of this series is its 10,000mAh battery. It has been clarified that this battery will be exclusive to the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, which will support 100W fast charging. Xiaomi has also confirmed that the box will not include a power adapter.
