Benefits for shopkeepers
According to the post on X, UPI has made it easier for small shopkeepers and merchants to accept digital payments. No MDR charges apply to these transactions, ensuring that small business owners do not face the burden of additional payment costs. Use UPI Lite.
If you frequently make small payments, you can use UPI Lite. By activating it within your UPI app, you can easily complete small transactions. A key advantage is that you do not need to enter your PIN repeatedly for these small payments, making the process faster.
Avoid these scenarios when receiving money.
If you use UPI, it is crucial to remember that you never need to enter your UPI PIN to receive money. Be immediately alert if someone calls and asks you to enter your UPI PIN or scan a QR code to receive funds. Generally, the UPI PIN is used only for transferring money or making payments.
Keep transaction limits in mind for UPI payments.
There are limits on the amount of money you can pay daily via UPI. While the limit for standard UPI payments can be up to ₹1 lakh, many of the usual limits may vary depending on the bank, the UPI app, and the type of transaction. Therefore, before making a large payment, it is important to check the limits set by your bank and the UPI app you are using.
