PNB Bank Alert: If you are a PNB account holder, this news is particularly important for you. If your bank account has been inactive for a long time—meaning no transactions have been made, or the account has a zero balance—you need to be cautious. The bank is monitoring these accounts.
According to PNB, accounts that have had no customer-initiated transactions for the past three years (up to September 30, 2026) and currently hold a zero balance are under the bank’s scrutiny. The bank may take action regarding these accounts. Customers are advised to complete the necessary procedures by November 10, 2026, to avoid any future inconvenience.
Which account holders are at risk?
PNB has issued a notice on its social media platform, X (formerly Twitter). This notice concerns account holders who have not conducted any transactions for over three years, as well as those with zero-balance accounts. The bank’s primary concern is that such accounts could pose security risks; therefore, to prevent potential misuse, the bank intends to close—or deactivate—them.
What should you do to keep your account active?
If you wish to keep your PNB account active, you should take action in a timely manner. You can visit a PNB branch; it is essential to carry documents for identity and address verification, such as your Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID card, or passport. Additionally, please bring a passport-sized photograph. By submitting these documents and completing the re-KYC process, you can reactivate your bank account. If you do not take this step, the bank will deactivate your account.
Where can you seek assistance?
If you require detailed information regarding your account or have any questions concerning the KYC process, you may contact your PNB branch. Additionally, you can reach out via the toll-free numbers 1800-1800 and 1800-2021.
