Meat and alcohol should not be consumed during the month of Sawan. The month of Sawan is the favourite month of Bholenath.

The Chaturmas starts from the month of Sawan; hence, auspicious ceremonies like marriage, weddings, and mundan sanskar are not performed during this month.
