Celebrate Janmashtami with Rose Churma Bhog for Kanha Ji – Easy Rajasthani Recipe Inside

The festival of Janmashtami is about to come! This year, on August 16, Krishna Janmotsav will be celebrated all over the country. On this day, devotees offer various types of dishes to please their Kanha. If you also want to make something different and delicious, then this time, definitely try Rajasthan’s special sweet Gulab Churma. This is a sweet that is made quickly and its taste is liked by people of all ages.

So let’s know without delay how this wonderful churma full of rose flavor is made.

Ingredients to make Gulab Churma
Flour and Ghee: 1 cup wheat flour,1/4 cup semolina, 1/4 cup melted ghee (for kneading)

Ghee for frying

For flavour and garnishing:

1/2 cup powdered sugar, 2-3 tsp rose water, 1 tsp rose petals (dried or fresh), 1/2 tsp cardamom powder, 8-10 finely chopped almonds and pistachios

For kneading the dough:

Milk

Easy way to make Gulab Churma
First of all, add wheat flour, semolina and 2 tsp melted ghee in a large vessel and mix well. Make sure that the ghee mixes well with the flour, so that the churma becomes crispy.

Now add milk little by little and knead a hard dough. Keep it covered for 10-15 minutes, so that it sets well. Next, make small balls of dough and roll each ball to make small puris.

Heat ghee in a pan and fry these puris on low to medium flame till they turn golden and crispy. When the puris cool down, put them in a mixer and grind them coarsely.

Now take out this chura in a large bowl. Add powdered sugar, cardamom powder, rose water and 2-3 teaspoons of melted ghee to it and mix well.

Your delicious Gulab Churma is ready! Finally, garnish it with dry rose petals and chopped almonds and pistachios and offer it to Kanha.
