NEET PG 2026: Big news is coming for doctors dreaming of pursuing postgraduate studies in medicine. The deadline to apply for the NEET PG entrance exam is fast approaching. Candidates wishing to enrol in PG courses can apply by visiting the official NBEMS website, natboard.edu.in. The application deadline is July 21st. Candidates will also have time to make corrections to their forms from July 25th to 28th, 2026.

Along with releasing the NEET PG 2026 schedule, NBEMS has also made some significant changes to the guidelines. This time, not only has the number of exam questions been reduced, but the process of selecting a centre and security rules have also been significantly tightened.

When will the NEET PG 2026 exam be held?

The NEET PG exam will be held on August 30th, 2026, at various exam centres across the country. It is being said that the city slip may be issued approximately 20 days before the exam. The admit card for the exam will be issued on August 27, 2026.

Examination Fee

All candidates must pay an examination fee. The registration fee for General, OBC, and EWS category candidates is ₹3,500. Candidates in the SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities categories must deposit ₹2,500.

Steps to Apply

First, visit the official website at natboard.edu.in.
Click on the ‘Examination’ section on the website’s homepage.
Next, click on the NEET PG link.
Click on the application link and enter all the required details.
Upload the scanned copies of the necessary documents.
Pay the examination fee.
Finally, take a printout of the completed form.

NEET PG Exam Pattern:

The NEET PG exam will have a total of 180 questions instead of 200. The exam is divided into five sections, each containing 36 questions. Each section will have 42 minutes to complete. This means that once a section’s time is up, it will be locked on the screen, preventing you from accessing those questions again. Students will now need to prioritise speed and time management.

NEET PG Exam Marking Scheme

Correct Answers: Each correct answer earns +4 marks.

Wrong Answers: Negative marking will apply, with -1 mark deducted for each incorrect answer.

Unattempted Questions: If you don’t answer a question, you will receive 0 marks.
