Rain Warning for Navi Mumbai
Heavy rainfall in Mumbai has led to waterlogging in several areas, causing traffic jams and halting vehicular movement. Similar conditions prevailed in other parts of the city, with roads submerged.
In Navi Mumbai, continuous rain caused severe waterlogging beneath Turbhe Railway Station, creating significant difficulties for pedestrians. A section of the Thane-Belapur Road was also completely inundated, disrupting traffic flow.
Delayed Local Trains
Heavy rain and low visibility affected the Western Railway network on Saturday; local trains at Bandra railway station are running 10–15 minutes behind schedule.
Railway operations are continuing, though passengers may face slight delays. Persistent rainfall appears to be impacting visibility and movement in parts of Mumbai.
Schools and Colleges Closed
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'Red Alert' for Mumbai, warning of very heavy rainfall. A holiday has been declared for afternoon sessions in all schools and colleges across Mumbai today, July 4, 2026.
Likelihood of Strong Winds
The IMD has issued a rainfall alert for Mumbai and surrounding areas for the next 24 hours. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in many places, with alerts issued for extremely heavy rainfall in isolated areas. Gusty winds reaching speeds of 50–60 kmph are also likely at times.

A 'Red Alert' has been issued for Mumbai, warning of rainfall in several areas over the next two days. Continuous rain throughout the week has disrupted normal life in the city. According to the weather forecast, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at several locations in Mumbai on July 4 and 5.
Traffic, Local Trains, and Waterlogging Status
As of Saturday morning, there have been no reports of active waterlogging in the city or suburbs. According to the BMC, local train services on both the Central and Western lines, as well as road traffic, were operating normally as of 9:00 AM.
Mumbai High Tide Alert
The administration is also on alert regarding sea conditions. Waves reaching a height of 4.26 meters are expected at 2:50 PM on Saturday (July 4). Following this, low tide (1.66 meters) will occur at 8:56 PM. High tide warnings have also been issued for Sunday at 2:52 AM and 3:22 PM (4.19 meters).
