Design: New front fascia and sharper look
The 2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift will feature minor but effective changes in terms of design. Earlier its prototype has been seen without any cover.
The front gets a new and wider grille with a thick chrome strip, giving it a different and more premium look from the current model. The front bumper has also been given a new design, in which the fog lamp housing will now be seen in a vertical layout. There will also be a chunky silver skid plate at the bottom, which will add to the rugged appeal of the SUV.
There could be slight changes at the rear too, with a segmented connecting light bar expected to be accompanied by LED taillamps. New design alloy wheels and fresh colour options will also be part of the facelift.
The boxy silhouette and sub-4-metre dimensions of the existing Brezza will be retained. More parking sensors were also seen in the recently spotted test model, indicating a safety upgrade.
Features: 10.1 -inch screen and ventilated seats
The biggest upgrade in the interior of the new Brezza facelift will be its features. The existing 9-inch touchscreen is now expected to be replaced by a larger 10.1 -inch infotainment system, which will be sourced from the Maruti Victoris The test model sees this new screen on the centre console, along with a new digital driver display.
The company can also add ventilated front seats to this facelift, which will prove to be quite comfortable in long drives. Other features include rear AC vents, powered driver seat and ambient lighting. In terms of safety, front parking sensors can be found, but there is no official confirmation about ADAS yet. The images of the test model show 6-speed written on the gear knob, which confirms that it will get a 6-speed manual transmission.
Engine and powertrain: The big step up for the 1.0 -litre turbo
The biggest and most talked-about change on the Brezza facelift will be its engine. The current Brezza only gets a 1.5 -litre petrol engine, but now the company is going to add a 1.0 -litre turbo petrol engine to it.
The engine will produce 98-100 bhp and 147-148 Nm of torque. It is offered with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions.
One of the main reasons for this change is taxes. Cars under 4 metres in length attract lower GST (18%) on petrol engines of less than 1.2 -litre and 40% on 1.5 -litre engines.
The smaller engine will not only bring tax benefits to the Brezza but also make it more affordable in the segment. The existing 1.5 -litre naturally aspirated petrol engine will also continue, giving customers both options.
CNG Variants: Underbody tank will increase practicality
The CNG variant of the Brezza is also expected to see a major change. The company could replace the existing boot-mounted CNG tank with an underbody CNG tank. This technology was first seen in the Maruti Victoris.
The existing Brezza CNG has the tank mounted in the boot, which takes up almost the entire boot space of the car. The underbody tank will eliminate this problem and make the CNG Brezza more practical. Both manual and automatic transmission options are likely to be available with the CNG variant.
Price: How much can it go up?
The current Brezza is priced between ₹8.26 lakh and ₹13.01 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift model could see a slight increase in price with the addition of a new engine, bigger screen, ventilated seats and other features.
The new Brezza is expected to be priced between ₹8.50 lakh and ₹13.50 lakh (ex-showroom) However, the tax benefits of the 1.0 -litre engine will keep the price of the turbo variant competitive.
Conclusion
The Maruti Suzuki Brezza 2026 facelift is part of the company's larger strategy to introduce the popular SUV with a new engine, updated features and a fresh design.
To be launched on July 23, 2026, the 1.0 -litre turbo petrol engine will not only improve performance but will also be economical due to tax benefits. Features like 10.1 -inch touchscreen, ventilated seats, digital instrument cluster and underbody CNG tank will make it a complete package.
