PM Kisan Yojna: Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) is a flagship scheme of the Government of India, which provides financial assistance to small and marginal farmers. Under this scheme, eligible farmers are given ₹ 6,000 every year, which is transferred directly to their bank accounts in three equal installments of ₹ 2,000-₹ 2,000. There is news for the farmers waiting for the 19th installment that this installment will be released on 24 February 2025. However, some new rules have been implemented, due to which some farmers will not be able to get this benefit.

New rules under PM Kisan Yojana

  • eKYC mandatory: All beneficiaries have to complete the eKYC process. This process can be completed online or by visiting the nearest common service center (CSC).
  • Aadhaar linking required: The Aadhaar card of the beneficiary must be linked to their bank account. Without Aadhaar linking, payment may be stopped.
  • Update land records: Farmers must keep their land records correct. Farmers giving incorrect information may be excluded from the scheme.
  • Eligibility Criteria: Only small and marginal farmers are eligible for this scheme. Big farmers, government employees (except Class IV and multi-tasking staff) and income tax payers cannot avail the benefits of this scheme.

Which farmers will not get ₹2000?

  • Those whose monthly pension is Rs 10 thousand or more.
  • Professionals like doctors, engineers, lawyers and chartered accounts.
  • Farmers who are income tax payers.

  • Whose land records or other documents are incomplete or incorrect.
