What is the scheme

Under the Haryana Chirag Yojana, the government will provide basic facilities on behalf of such poor students and in this way the children of government schools will be given a chance to study in private schools for free.

Any child whose family income is less than Rs 1.80 lakh is eligible to get the benefit of this scheme. In the initial phase of this scheme, the government is going to cover about 25,000 students who will be from class 2 to 12th.

To start the Chirag Yojana, the government has abolished section 134A. Through this scheme, the government wants to allow low-income children to study in private schools for free.

Eligibility

  • The applicant student in this scheme must be a native of Haryana state.
  • The annual income of the student’s family should not exceed Rs 1.80 lakh.
  • Students of Haryana state who are studying from class 2 to 12th can apply in this scheme.

Only children from economically poor and weaker section families will get the benefit of this scheme.
