KTM 350 Duke Price Breakdown: ₹3.18 Lakh On-Road Cost, EMI & 18% GST Explained

KTM India has executed a masterstroke in market positioning by introducing the 350cc versions of the Duke and Adventure. By strategically downsizing the displacement to 349.32cc, KTM has bypassed the 40% “luxury” tax bracket, qualifying instead for the 18% GST slab. This technicality has allowed KTM to slash prices by a massive ₹62,000 compared to the 399cc models, while retaining almost all the premium hardware that defines the brand.

With the 2026 lineup now offering both 350cc and 399cc (R/X/S) options, the “Orange Army” has never been more accessible. From the new 41bhp engine output to the revised naming conventions like the 390 Duke R, we’ve analyzed the specs and the tax-driven price shifts to bring you the ultimate breakdown.

The GST 18% Strategy

The downsizing was achieved by shortening the engine’s stroke, a move that specifically targets India’s unique tax laws. By staying just under the 350cc limit, KTM has effectively bridged the massive price gap between the 250cc and 390cc segments without stripping the bikes of their premium features.

Performance

Despite the displacement drop, the new 350cc engine still produces 41bhp. To put that in perspective, that is only 4.5bhp less than the 399cc motor, but it remains significantly more powerful than almost any other 350cc-400cc single-cylinder bike in the Indian market.

Identical Hardware

KTM has not downgraded the hardware for the 350cc range. Unlike the previous “Adventure X” which lacked certain electronics, the new 350s come fully loaded with the TFT display, USD forks, and the same high-tensile trellis chassis found on the flagship R and S models.

Revised Naming

KTM has also updated the nomenclature of its existing 399cc models to clear up any confusion in the showrooms:

Pros & Cons

Pros  Cons
Exceptional Value: Massive ₹62k savings via tax efficiency. Torque Loss: 5.5 Nm less grunt for pillion-heavy overtakes.
Full Tech Suite: Retains the TFT and premium USD forks. Identity: Visually identical to the 399s; lacks “350” badging flair.
Weight: Identical kerb weight ensures the “flickability” remains. Top End: Slight drop in triple-digit highway cruising speed.
Range Clarity: Fits perfectly between the 250cc and 399cc bikes. Fuel Sensitivity: High-compression engine still prefers premium fuel.
