Three New Units Formed in the State
As part of the reorganisation, three major units are being formed in the Fire Service Department:

These units will strengthen immediate assistance and rescue operations in emergencies in the state.

As directed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a fire tender and staff will now be deployed every 100 km on each expressway.
This will require 244 personnel. Additionally, a commando-type special unit (Specially Trained Rescue Group) will be formed in each region, requiring 183 personnel.
These teams will be specialised in handling complex situations such as chemical, biological, radiological, and fire in super-high-rise buildings.
New deployments will also be available at airports
As per the MoU signed between the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), 420 personnel are required for fire safety at the state’s nine regional airports. These airports include Kushinagar, Azamgarh, Shravasti, Kanpur Nagar, Ayodhya, Aligarh, Moradabad, Chitrakoot, and Sonbhadra.
Currently, personnel from the districts have been temporarily deployed at these airports, but permanent personnel will be appointed following the new recruitment.
