Ather Rizta: The craze for electric two-wheelers in India has reached a new level, and Ather Energy has set a benchmark in this race that is impossible to ignore. The company has officially announced that total sales of its family-designed electric scooter, the Ather Rizta, have surpassed the landmark 300,000 (300,000) units. The most surprising thing is that Rizta has achieved this success within just two years of its launch. If you, too, are looking for a reliable and affordable ride for your home, this news is for you.
A massive surge in bookings
The Rizta has now proven to be a ‘superhit’ product for Ather Energy. According to company data, 200,000 units of the Rizta were sold by December 2025, but in just five months after that, another 100,000 scooters were sold.
This clearly indicates that people are adopting electric scooters not just for show, but for genuine necessity. The pace of the Rizta has made it clear that if a product meets the basic needs of customers, such as comfort and more space, its success is unstoppable.
Chaos in Market Share
The Athar Rizta has not only increased the company’s sales but also played a major role in establishing it as a ‘national brand’. During the financial year 2026, the Rizta alone contributed approximately 76 percent of the company’s total sales. The biggest benefit was seen in states where Athar previously had a very low presence.
In states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha, the company’s market share, which was only 4.1 percent previously, has now increased to nearly 17.3 percent. In northern Indian states like Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, the company’s growth has more than tripled, indicating that electric scooters are no longer limited to major cities.
Features
The Ather Rizta is designed not just for style but to ease the hustle and bustle of daily life. It offers all the features an Indian family needs in their vehicle. This scooter has a total storage capacity of 56 liters, including 34 liters under the seat and 22 liters in the front, allowing you to comfortably store everything from helmets to household groceries. Its seat is much larger and wider than other scooters on the market, and its floorboard is quite spacious, ensuring fatigue-free driving even on long journeys.
Range and Battery
This scooter also excels in terms of safety, with high-tech features like skid control, theft alert for theft prevention, and tow alert in case of towing. The company offers it in two different battery options: a 2.9 kWh battery pack that offers a range of up to 123 kilometers, and a larger 3.7 kWh battery pack that offers a range of up to 160 kilometers on a single charge.
The top-of-the-line model also features a large 17.7-centimeter TFT display, along with luxury features like Google Maps navigation and live location sharing.
