Weather Update: Weather is changing across several states nationwide. Some states are experiencing rain, while others are facing dense fog and biting cold. Severe cold has begun in many states, including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. Thick fog is also prevailing in some states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that a new Western Disturbance may become active from December 13th. As a result, changes in weather patterns are expected across much of North India. The intensity of the cold has increased in most states of the country.

Due to dense fog and cold waves, temperatures are dropping rapidly. The Meteorological Department has also issued a cold wave alert for several states today. According to the IMD, cold wave conditions are likely to persist in Karnataka, Telangana, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Central Maharashtra, and Vidarbha on December 13th.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), dense fog is expected to persist across many parts of Uttar Pradesh during the morning hours between December 13th and 15th. Eastern UP, along with Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh, may also be affected by fog.

Rain and Snowfall in the Mountains

The IMD has issued an alert for rain and snowfall in the hilly states for the next few days. According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in several areas of Jammu and Kashmir, while light rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have increased the cold.

Weather in Bihar
According to the Meteorological Department, many cities in Bihar, including Patna, Bhagalpur, Purnea, Gaya, and Ara, started the day with dense fog. Due to westerly winds, temperatures have dropped, and the cold has intensified. According to the IMD, haze may also be seen in many areas during the evening.

Rain and Snowfall Alert in these States
The Meteorological Department predicts light rain in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on December 14th. Snowfall is also expected in several areas. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is expected across parts of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands through December 14. Strong winds are also possible in several areas.

Cold wave warning in several states
Many parts of North India are experiencing severe cold. People in Punjab and Haryana are also suffering from the extreme cold. According to the IMD, cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in Telangana and North Interior Karnataka on December 14.
