New Delhi: Gusty winds and rainfall across several parts of Uttar Pradesh have caused temperatures to drop, bringing much-needed relief to residents from the heat. The spell of rain has been witnessed across numerous regions, including Lucknow, the state capital. According to the IMD (India Meteorological Department), this shift in weather—triggered by a new Western Disturbance—began in Western UP and appears to be gradually moving eastward toward the districts in the eastern part of the state.
Heavy rainfall and lightning strikes have claimed the lives of 20 people over the past week, while 12 others have sustained injuries. Early this morning, weather conditions remained inclement in Moradabad, Rampur, Amroha, and Bijnor; however, sunshine broke through in the afternoon, leading to a slight rise in temperatures. Rainfall Warning for These UP Districts
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for hailstorms in several districts. There is a possibility of hailstones falling in Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, and their surrounding areas. Additionally, some districts are expected to experience strong winds blowing at speeds of 50–60 km per hour.
Specifically, rain accompanied by lightning is forecast for Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, and Jalaun.
Weather Outlook for These Regions
According to the Meteorological Department, rain is also likely in Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Saharanpur, Shamli, and Muzaffarnagar.
In addition to these areas, weather conditions may remain unsettled in Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, and Pilibhit.
