New Delhi: The weather pattern across the country appears to be changing rapidly these days. From North India to the southern states, the heat typically associated with May and June is already being felt in March, leaving everyone sweating profusely. The weather conditions in the northeastern states also appear to have undergone a significant shift.

In the plains, the intensifying glare of the sun has caused people to break into a sweat, leading to discomfort for everyone. A possibility of deteriorating weather conditions has been forecast for several parts of Delhi-NCR, Haryana, and Rajasthan. You can find detailed information below regarding what the weather will be like in specific regions; we recommend reading this article carefully.

Rain Accompanied by Thunder and Lightning Expected Here

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a warning for heavy snowfall and rainfall has been issued for the high-altitude regions of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand over the next 48 hours. There is also a likelihood that periods of thunder and strong winds will persist in these areas.

The weather patterns in the mountains are expected to have a direct impact on the plains states, such as Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan. An alert has been issued for these regions regarding the possibility of hailstorms and lightning strikes, accompanied by gusty winds blowing at speeds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour. On the other hand, for states in Eastern and Northeastern India—including Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand—a warning has been issued for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall, with winds reaching speeds of 50 km/h, between March 24 and March 28.

Rain Alert for Several Parts of Rajasthan

According to the Meteorological Department, the influence of a Western Disturbance has been observed in several parts of Rajasthan, including the state capital, Jaipur. As per the IMD’s Jaipur centre, there remains a possibility of rainfall in certain parts of the state on Monday as well. The IMD reported that light rainfall was recorded at isolated locations across the state during the 24 hours leading up to Monday morning. Starting early Monday morning, a drop in temperature may be observed in several areas of Jaipur due to drizzle, cloud cover, and prevailing winds.

Heavy Rainfall Forecast for These Regions

The IMD indicates that North-West to North-East India is likely to witness a diverse range of weather conditions. Under the influence of three consecutive active Western Disturbances, scattered rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected to prevail across North-West India throughout this entire week.

Significant rainfall and lightning activity are also anticipated in the states of North-East India and the adjoining regions of East India. A localised heavy rainfall alert has been issued for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya for March 24, and subsequently for March 27–28. Meanwhile, in parts of South and West India—specifically regions like Konkan and Kerala—residents are likely to experience humid heat and warm weather conditions around March 25.
