UP Rain Alert Today: Residents of Uttar Pradesh, be warned, as the weather is about to take a turn for the worse. UP residents are already grappling with dense fog and cold, but now rain is set to add to their troubles. A Western Disturbance is becoming active in several parts of Uttar Pradesh.
As the Western Disturbance becomes active, cloudy conditions will prevail, along with spells of rain in many areas. This situation will last not just for a few hours, but for two days. Due to the rain, the temperature in several cities of UP may drop by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius. Cloudy conditions and rain are expected in many districts of UP. Know how long the rain will last.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), light rainfall is expected to continue for the next 36 hours. The maximum temperature may drop by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in the next 48 hours. Following this, temperatures may rise again after a few days.
In the last 24 hours, the lowest temperature recorded was 5.9 degrees Celsius in Muzaffarnagar. The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for January 23rd. Strong winds with speeds of up to 40 kilometres per hour are expected in several parts of UP.
Rain is expected to begin in Western UP on Thursday, and its effects are likely to reach Eastern and Central Uttar Pradesh. Hailstorms are also possible in several places. Therefore, an orange alert has been issued for some districts.

These districts may experience rain.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain with thunder and lightning is expected in Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Saharanpur, Meerut, Mathura, Hathras, and Aligarh. The IMD has also predicted rain in Sambhal, Rampur, Moradabad, Amroha, Hapur, and Baghpat.
Besides these, drizzle is expected in Ghaziabad, Bijnor, and the surrounding areas. The intensity of the rainfall will decrease significantly on January 24th. The weather is expected to remain dry from January 25th onwards. Strong winds may cause the temperature to drop further. People are advised to wear warm clothes and take necessary precautions.
