New Delhi: The weather across the country is changing rapidly, raising concerns about a potential deterioration of conditions. People already struggling with severe cold and cold waves are likely to face further challenges. Due to a Western Disturbance, the weather will suddenly worsen from North India to Central India, with strong winds and thunderstorms expected.
Moreover, rainfall is also expected in many areas. The weather changes could significantly impact life in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, and Punjab. The next 24 to 48 hours are expected to be crucial. Strong winds could even disrupt transportation. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in various parts of the country.

Snowfall and Rain Alert in the Mountains
According to the IMD, several Western Disturbances are currently active, directly affecting the Himalayan regions. Snowfall is expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand within the next 24 to 48 hours. Heavy snowfall is likely in the higher altitudes.
In the lower regions, rain and cold winds are expected. This weather system is likely to extend its influence to the plains. Cloudy conditions are expected in the plains, with wind speeds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour.
Weather Forecast for These Regions
In Delhi-NCR, the weather is expected to remain quite changeable for the next three days. Partially cloudy conditions are likely. The maximum temperature is expected to remain below normal.
A warning has been issued for light to dense fog in several areas in the morning. A warning for very light rain with thunder and lightning has also been issued for the night. Winds are expected to blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour.

According to the Meteorological Department, the cold wave has not yet subsided in Uttar Pradesh. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in western Uttar Pradesh on February 1st and 2nd, and in eastern Uttar Pradesh on February 2nd. Thunderstorms are also likely.
A dense fog alert has been issued for several districts. No relief is expected in Bihar for the time being, and heavy rainfall and a cold wave are predicted in the coming days.
