Monsoon Alert: The country is currently experiencing a severe cold wave. People in most states are suffering greatly due to the intense cold. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and several other states are experiencing a cold wave. In Bihar, the weather is extremely cold. Dense fog is expected in Madhepura, Madhubani, Supaul, Purnea, and Katihar districts of Bihar during the next three hours. The temperature in Bihar is expected to drop again. From Monday, the minimum temperature across the state may fall by two to three degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. During this period, North Bihar will experience colder temperatures than South Bihar.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Patna, dense fog is expected in 18 districts in the northern part of the state over the next 24 hours. In Patna and other parts, westerly winds will cause a biting chill. The maximum temperature in many parts of the state may increase by one to three degrees Celsius during the next 24 hours. The minimum temperature in 18 districts of the state was recorded below eight degrees Celsius.

Cold day conditions were observed in Darbhanga, Valmiki Nagar, Araria, Motihari, Nalanda, Vaishali, and Munger on Sunday. The minimum temperature in Patna was recorded at 7.8 degrees Celsius. The lowest minimum visibility of 30 meters was recorded in Bhagalpur.
Icy Winds in Purnea
Weather experts predict that the cold spell may continue for the next few days due to icy winds coming from North India. A further drop in minimum temperature is expected. Additionally, foggy and misty conditions may persist in the mornings and evenings, requiring caution. Health experts have advised people to take precautions against the cold.

Warning Issued for These Districts Today
The IMD has issued a warning for all 19 districts of North Bihar, including Purnea, Kishanganj, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, and West Champaran, due to dense fog on Monday. The meteorological department has issued a yellow alert for these districts. Meanwhile, all districts of South Bihar, including Patna, Gaya, Kaimur, and Jamui, will experience relief from cold day conditions and dense fog. No warnings have been issued for these 19 districts. This weather pattern is expected to continue until January 16th, with some relief from the cold and dense fog. No alerts have been issued for the entire state of Bihar on January 17th, meaning people can expect some respite from the cold.
