New Delhi: The election for the post of Vice President is expected to be very interesting. After the NDA, now the India Alliance has also increased the stir by announcing the name of the candidate for the post of Vice President. The opposition India Alliance has made the fight very interesting by making former Supreme Court judge B Sudarshan Reddy its candidate in the Vice Presidential election.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has announced his name. Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that his name has been approved with the consent of the India Alliance. He will face CP Radhakrishnan of the NDA alliance. Both candidates will file their nomination papers on 21 August 2025. In a press conference, the name of Sudarshan Reddy has been announced as the Vice Presidential candidate.
Attempt to woo South Indian parties.
If sources are to be believed, both alliances have announced the names of the candidates by wooing the political parties of South India. NDA declared CP Radhakrishnan as its candidate, keeping in mind the parties of South India, in the same way former judge Sudarshan Reddy has been fielded.
After the name of former judge Sudarshan Reddy came out, parties like TDP, YSRCP and BRS have also been forced to think again, who to support.
India’s alliance said a big thing. The
India Alliance said that the demands of DMK, TMC and everyone else have been met. The opposition said that they (NDA) have brought a person associated with the Sangh, and we are bringing a person from the Supreme Court.
This name meets all the conditions of the opposition – a candidate from South India, which DMK wanted, and a face outside politics, which TMC had demanded. According to TMC, a person who is non-political should be made the candidate. DMK chief and Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin had also demanded to make a face from Tamil Nadu as the candidate.
