How Was Shuvendu’s PA Killed? Eyewitness Tells the Full Story

New Delhi: Since the announcement of the Assembly election results in West Bengal, political workers have been continuously targeting and attacking one another. Late on Wednesday night, the Personal Assistant (PA) to senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari was shot dead. This incident has sent shockwaves across West Bengal. Assailants travelling in a car and on motorcycles unleashed a rapid-fire barrage of bullets, critically injuring his driver as well.

The deceased PA was identified as Chandranath Rath. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has been held responsible for his murder. However, the TMC has also condemned the incident and has, in turn, demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter. Eyewitnesses have made significant revelations regarding the attackers. According to eyewitness accounts, the killers had been conducting reconnaissance in the area for several days before the attack.

How ​​Was the PA Murdered?

Chandranath was shot in the Madhyamgram area of ​​West Bengal while he was returning home in a Scorpio SUV. At that moment, assailants on motorcycles intercepted his vehicle and opened fire indiscriminately. He sustained critical injuries after being struck by bullets. Upon hearing the sound of gunfire, locals rushed him to the nearby Diversity Nursing Home; however, he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

TMC workers have been accused of carrying out the murder. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the crime scene and immediately commenced an investigation. The police are currently scrutinising CCTV footage installed in the area, and a manhunt for the attackers is underway.

According to the eyewitness: “When I stepped out of my house, I saw a Scorpio vehicle parked there.”

“Inside the vehicle, the driver was weeping and crying out, ‘Sir, what has happened!'” When we arrived at the scene, he informed us that some individuals had shot at them and fled. We observed that a man seated in the passenger seat was covered in blood, and only faint sounds were escaping his lips.

An eyewitness reported that Chandranath Rath’s chest was completely drenched in blood. We instructed the driver to rush him to the hospital immediately while we contacted the police. Two individuals had sustained gunshot wounds in the incident. The driver departed with them for the hospital; shortly after they left, we called the police to report the incident.
