Holika Dahan 2025: Holika Dahan is observed annually on the full moon day of the month of Falgun. Preparations for this celebration have commenced nationwide. Holika Dahan, also referred to as Chhoti Holi, precedes the vibrant festival of colors known as Holi, which takes place the following day.
According to religious traditions, the Pradosh period is deemed particularly auspicious for Holika Dahan. This festival marks the conclusion of the Hindu New Year celebrations. Astrologer has indicated that the favorable time for Holika Dahan this year is from 11:28 PM to 12:06 AM on March 13. However, it is noteworthy that Bhadra will cast its influence over Holika Dahan this year.
As per Jyotishacharya, on Holika Dahan, which falls on March 13, Bhadra’s shadow will be present on Earth from 10:36 AM to 11:28 PM. Consequently, conducting the Holika fire during this timeframe is regarded as inauspicious. The designated time for Holika Puja on Holika Dahan is from 10:36 AM to 1:30 PM. Following this period, Rahu Kaal will occur from 1:30 PM to 3 PM, during which performing any Puja is considered prohibited.
