The Department has also issued an alert for May 10–12, 2026, warning of lightning and strong winds, with gusts of 40–60 km/h, in isolated pockets of Northwest India. A new Western Disturbance is expected to become active starting May 10. This could trigger a fresh spell of rain and stormy winds—blowing at speeds of 40–50 km/h—across Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi. Additionally, similar weather conditions may also be observed in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on May 11 and 12.
