On Wednesday, the US claimed that it destroyed more than a dozen Iranian mine-laying vessels on Tuesday. Iran, meanwhile, has warned that it will halt oil exports from the region and prevent even a single litre of oil from reaching its enemies.

The US military made a bold claim, claiming that it destroyed 16 Iranian mine-laying vessels near the Strait of Hormuz. This waterway is one of the world’s most important oil routes, carrying approximately 20 per cent of the world’s oil supply.
However, US President Donald Trump stated on social media that there are no reports yet that Iran has laid explosives in this waterway. The US military has also shared videos on social media claiming to have destroyed these ships, which have only just been released to the public. This move comes after Trump warned that if Iran does not immediately remove any mines laid in this waterway, the US will launch an attack like never before.
How many days have the attacks been ongoing?
For information, the war between the US, Israel, and Iran has been ongoing for the past 11 days. Attacks are being carried out from both sides. Despite major US-Israeli attacks and threats, Iran remains unwilling to surrender.
