Strong action will be taken against those responsible.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu paid tribute to the deceased. He expressed grief over the incident and said that innocent people lost their lives in the stampede. He said that the organisers did not inform the police or local authorities about the incident. The Venkateshwara Temple in Kashibugga was constructed by a private individual, and a large number of devotees had gathered there due to Kartik Ekadashi.
Naidu further stated that, unfortunately, the organisers did not inform the police or local authorities about the incident. Had they informed us, we would have provided police protection and controlled the crowd. This lack of coordination resulted in the loss of nine lives and five injuries. The government is committed to ensuring that no one loses their life, but such incidents at private events are extremely unfortunate.
Stampede due to broken railing
For information, it is worth noting that due to the festival of Devuthani, a large crowd of devotees had gathered at the Venkateshwara Temple since morning. Since the temple is on the second floor, people were climbing the stairs. The stairs broke due to the uncontrolled crowd.
A stampede broke out within the crowd, resulting in the death of nine people, most of whom were women. The Chief Minister has ordered an investigation and action against the culprits soon. There have been many stampede incidents in India before, in which innocent people lost their lives.
