Rajasthan Farmers: Which Farmers Will Receive ₹345 Crore in Crop Insurance Claims?

Rajasthan Farmers News: Both the central and state governments operate several significant schemes for farmers, providing them with essential financial support. Recently, ahead of Diwali, the Rajasthan government made a major announcement: pending crop insurance claims totalling approximately ₹345 crore have been settled for farmers across nine districts in the state.

This decision by the state government will provide financial relief to farmers whose crops were damaged due to drought, natural disasters, or adverse weather conditions. In this article, we explore which farmers will receive support and the amounts they are set to receive.

Relief of ₹345 crore for farmers
The Rajasthan government has settled long-pending claims under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), involving an expenditure of approximately ₹345 crore. This initiative has benefited insured farmers across nine districts, and insurance companies have disbursed the funds.

Notably, farmers in Western Rajasthan—who were affected by drought during the Rabi season—have received approximately ₹318 crore in crop insurance claim payouts. Specifically, farmers in Bikaner received ₹116 crore, followed by ₹53.60 crore in Barmer, ₹48 crore in Jodhpur, ₹43.58 crore in Jalore, ₹31 crore in Pali, ₹25.85 crore in Churu, and ₹9.50 crore in Jaipur.

Which farmers will benefit from this scheme?

It should be noted that the benefits of the crop insurance scheme will be available to those farmers whose insurance claims have been filed and subsequently approved in accordance with the established rules. Farmers who had insured their crops under this scheme and whose claims have been approved can verify the receipt of payment in their bank accounts. To do so, farmers should ensure that their bank passbooks are kept updated.

Why this payment is essential for farmers
Farmers frequently face challenges such as droughts, excessive rainfall, hailstorms, and other natural disasters, which often lead to the destruction of their crops. Such situations result in significant financial losses for the farmers. The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PM Crop Insurance Scheme) provides relief in these circumstances.

Farmers can file insurance claims under this scheme, following which the government provides the insurance payout. Receiving this insurance amount helps resolve the financial difficulties faced by the farmers.
