Train Cancelled: 9 Trains, Including Vande Bharat Cancelled, Check Here

Train Cancelled : Bad weather in Odisha. Due to this, the problems of rail passengers have increased. Cyclone Arnab has caused heavy rainfall in many areas of the state. This is now affecting railway operations. Keeping the safety of passengers in mind, the Railways has decided to cancel several trains and divert some.

A Large Number of Trains Remain Cancelled

The Railways announced on Thursday that nine trains have been cancelled. This includes the Vande Bharat Express that operates between Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam. The Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam Intercity Express and the Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad Visakha Express are also among those affected. Other cancelled services include the Brahmapur-Visakhapatnam Passenger, Visakhapatnam-Bhubaneswar Passenger, Brahmapur-Visakhapatnam Express, and the Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express. Additionally, the Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express, which was scheduled for October 30, has been cancelled.

The water level of the Bahuda River has risen, posing a threat to the railway track.

In the Ganjam district of Odisha, continuous rainfall has led to a rapid rise in the Bahuda River. The water level has exceeded the danger mark on two railway bridges in the Ichhapuram-Jadupudi section of the Visakhapatnam division. Ganjam district has recorded around 550 mm of rainfall. As a result, the increasing water levels in the river and nearby reservoirs have disrupted rail operations, leading to a suspension of train traffic in this area for safety reasons.

Food and drink arrangements for passengers.

Railway officials have stated that food and drinking water are being provided to passengers affected by the cancellations. Railway staff and security personnel are on hand to assist travelers. The railway has made it clear that normal operations will only resume once the water level in the Bahuda River decreases and the bridges are deemed safe. Therefore, passengers are advised to check the status of their trains through NTES or official railway channels before heading to the station.

14 trains have been diverted

Alongside the cancellations, the Railways has opted to reroute 14 trains via alternative paths. These include the Brahmapur-Udhna Amrit Bharat Express, the Bhubaneswar-Bengaluru Prashanti Express, the Howrah-Bengaluru Express, and the Bhagalpur-Yeshwantpur Ang Express.

These trains will be diverted via alternate routes such as Angul, Sambalpur, Rayagada, Vijayanagaram, and Titlagarh. The routes for individual trains have been changed.
