Gold Price Weekend: Gold prices are fluctuating continuously. The country is celebrating its 80th Independence Day today; as a result, gold rates will not be released today. By the close of trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the price of 24-carat gold had risen by 0.73%—an increase of ₹1,124—to settle at ₹1,54,590 per 10 grams. Gold rates will not be issued on Saturday.
Meanwhile, bullion market data shows gold prices at ₹1,54,830 per 10 grams. In international markets, gold is priced at $4,432.00 per ounce. How much has gold appreciated according to IBJA?
Gold and silver prices trended upward this week. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold rose by ₹2,742 to reach ₹1.52 lakh per 10 grams. Earlier, on August 7, the price of 999-purity gold was recorded at ₹1,49,621 per 10 grams, whereas by the market close on August 14, the price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹1,52,363 per tola. Meanwhile, silver prices rose by ₹2,461, from ₹2.31 lakh per kilogram to ₹2.34 lakh per kilogram.
Continued rise in gold and silver prices
Gold and silver prices have fluctuated continuously this year. So far, gold has become ₹19,000 costlier. On December 31, 2025, the price of 10g of gold was above ₹1.33 lakh; it has now reached ₹1.52 lakh.
The price of silver has risen by ₹4,000. Silver was recorded at ₹2.30 lakh per kilogram on December 31, 2025, and now stands at ₹2.34 lakh per kilogram. During this period, on January 29, gold hit an all-time high of ₹1.76 lakh, while silver reached an all-time high of ₹3.86 lakh.
