Xiaomi Mix Flip 2: Xiaomi is getting ready to release the successor to its initial clamshell foldable, the Mix Flip, and information regarding its release schedule and specs is already emerging. Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is soon going to land with improved hardware, design refinement, and a high-powered chipset upgrade.
Launch Timeline and Expected Event
Tipster Digital Chat Station has made the statement that Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 will launch in June 2025. The company might also release it independently of the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition and a new Redmi gaming tablet, both of which are coming around the same time. Xiaomi also seems to be skipping the release of Mix Fold 3’s successor this year, so the Mix Flip 2 will be its sole foldable model in 2025.
Processor and Performance
The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is expected to come powered by Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The new processor represents a major upgrade from the earlier Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 used in the original Mix Flip, implying better performance and power efficiency in the future foldable.
Display and Design
Leaks suggest the Mix Flip 2 will feature a 6.85-inch LTPO OLED inner screen with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The phone may be 7.6mm in thickness and weigh approximately 190 grams. The phone could also arrive with IPX8 water and dust resistance, which would make it tougher for day-to-day use.
Camera
The foldable smartphone will have a dual camera setup at the back with two 50-megapixel sensors. The main sensor could be 1/1.5-inch in size, and the ultra-wide-angle shooter could be 1/2.76-inch. This configuration suggests better photography capabilities than the previous model.
Battery and Charging
The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 will most probably be equipped with a 5,100mAh battery, offering extended usage on one charge. It has also appeared on the 3C certification site with 67W wired charging support, even offering fast recharging speeds similar to the initial model.
Security and Build
According to reports, the phone may feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for unlocking. The build quality overall is to provide top-shelf durability with its slender design and IPX8 certification.
Previous Generation Overview
The initial Xiaomi Mix Flip came out in China in July 2024 with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 4.01-inch cover screen, 6.86-inch inner display, and 4,780mAh battery. It cost CNY 5,999 (approximately Rs. 69,000) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant and came to a few select markets outside China later in the year.
