Xiaomi 16 Ultra: One of the big smartphone companies, Xiaomi, is looking at launching the Xiaomi 16 Ultra soon. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which was unveiled in February of this year, will be replaced by it. It is possible to add a Leica-branded rear camera unit to the company’s next flagship smartphone. A 6.8-inch LTPO display is possible.

The Xiaomi 16 Ultra is a “new height in mobile imaging,” according to Lu Weibing, president and group partner of Xiaomi, who teased the device on Weibo, a microblogging site in China. This suggests that the smartphone will be released shortly. Also, it has been verified that Xiaomi and Leica are working together on the next smartphone. According to Tipster Digital Chat Station, the release of this smartphone is imminent. Together with the Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro, it can be sent to China.

This February, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra made its debut in China. This smartphone was then introduced to the global market in March during the Mobile World Congress (MWC), which took place in Barcelona, Spain. For Rs 1,09,999, the only variant—which had 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM—was offered in India.

Expected Xiaomi 16 Ultra Features

It has a 6.8-inch LTPO screen with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and 2K resolution. This smartphone may use Qualcomm’s forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 CPU. The Xiaomi 16 Ultra’s back camera unit is capable of housing a 50 megapixel Sony LYT600 camera, a 1/1.28 inch 200 megapixel periscope telephoto camera, and a 1 inch 50 megapixel primary camera. This smartphone has a 7,000 mAh to 7,500 mAh battery. 50 W wireless charging and 100 W fast charging are supported. The 6.73-inch LTPO OLED screen of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra has a peak brightness level of 3,200 nits and a flexible refresh rate of 120 Hz. Its display has been protected with Xiaomi Shield Glass 2.0. Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0, which is based on Android 15, powers it. For further security, this smartphone features an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Timeline for Launch

The Xiaomi 16 Ultra is expected to be released before Spring Festival, which is in February 2026, in contrast to the previous Xiaomi Ultra series, which was typically released after Chinese New Year.

Some reports say that this device could be launched globally in early March, during MWC 2026. We will need to wait for formal information regarding this for the time being.
