Vivo X Fold 5: Vivo is set to bring out its next-gen foldable phone, the Vivo X Fold 5, in China on June 25. The new product promises impressive performance and user experience upgrades. The highlight feature is the launch of a fresh multitasking feature dubbed Atomic Workbench, which supports up to five programs running at the same time on the large foldable screen. The feature aims to change the way users manage work and entertainment on their phones.
Atomic Workbench Facilitates Effortless Productivity
With Atomic Workbench, users have the ability to control video calls, display presentations, monitor stock prices, and utilize professional software without having to switch between applications. This configuration is customized to suit professionals and multitaskers, who expect more out of their device. The customizable foldable screen facilitates real-time interaction with five active windows, making effortless task switching and efficiency easier.
OriginOS 5 and Apple Ecosystem Support
The Vivo X Fold 5 will come with OriginOS 5 over Android 15 in China. It also comes with a range of smart ecosystem features such as Apple Watch and iCloud sync, cross-platform call and message management, and remote PC access with Mac file browsing. These features suggest Vivo’s emphasis on cross-device integration, which means the X Fold 5 is an incredibly useful device for not just Android users but also for users within Apple’s universe.
A Revolution in Foldable Battery Design
The foldable smartphone features a humongous 6,000mAh battery, the highest capacity in a foldable smartphone. In spite of this, the phone is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, owing to a fourth-generation silicon negative electrode battery. The new battery features 12% silicon content, which contributes dramatically to energy density while keeping the profile slim. The phone is said to be thinner than a Chinese one-yuan coin.
Durable and Fast-Charging Battery Technology
Equipped with second-generation semi-solid-state battery technology, the phone provides constant power output even at very low temperatures of -30°C. The battery also has support for 90W wired charging and 30W wireless charging, ensuring durability and ease of use. Despite such power, the phone is less than 219 grams and a mere 9.33mm thick when folded, only 4.3mm when open.
High-Quality Display, Power, and Camera Arrangement
Vivo X Fold 5 has a 6.53-inch LTPO outer screen and an 8.03-inch 2K+ AMOLED foldable screen, both supporting 120Hz refresh rates. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. For photography, it features a triple camera system designed in collaboration with Zeiss, including a 50MP IMX921 primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP IMX882 telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Global release is on track for July, but the China release has been scheduled for June 25.
