Vivo V50 vs V50e: vivo’s V-series has a reputation for delivering feature-packed performance at an affordable price point, and now the company has released two interesting options, vivo V50 and vivo V50e. Though both come with a high-end AMOLED display, 50MP cameras, and rapid charging, a couple of differences might influence your purchase decision. Let’s compare them feature by feature.

Display and Design

Both devices come with a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED screen and a Full HD+ resolution of 1080×2392 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. However, the V50 has a peak brightness of 4500 nits, which is much greater than the V50e’s 1800 nits. This renders the V50 more suitable for usage outdoors. Design-wise, the two devices have an identical screen-to-body ratio and punch-hole screen, but the V50 is marginally thinner at 7.39mm compared to the V50e’s 7.61mm.

Performance and Processor

vivo V50 is fueled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor and Adreno 720 GPU, whereas the V50e is driven by MediaTek Dimensity 7300 with Mali-G615 MC2. Benchmarking tests reveal the V50 having a score of 821,023 on AnTuTu, higher than the V50e’s 688,905. The variation in CPU structure and GPU performance results in the V50 being more suitable for multitasking and demanding gaming.

Battery and Charging

Power-wise, the V50 is endowed with a whopping 6000mAh battery and features 90W Flash Charging. The V50e, on the other hand, has a minor drop in battery capacity to 5600mAh, but retains the same 90W fast charging capability, which charges to 50% within 20 minutes. While both offer good endurance, the V50 takes the lead with a larger battery life of 16 hours 16 minutes (PC Mark) compared to 15 hours 8 minutes on the V50e.

Camera Features

Both phones are fitted with a 50MP front camera, perfect for selfies and 4K video recording. There’s a big difference in rear camera setup, however. The V50 boasts a 50MP ultra-wide secondary sensor, while the V50e has an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The V50 also features quad LED flash, while the V50e features Smart Aura Light. Both have dual video recording and SuperMoon mode, but the sensor quality and other shooting modes on the V50 make it superior for photography enthusiasts.

Software and Updates

At the software level, both have Android v15 with Funtouch OS and are up for 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security patches. This guarantees prolonged support and constant performance optimization, making both phones future-proofed.

The vivo V50 feels marginally more premium with a mineral glass and plastic rear, over the all-plastic body of the V50e. Both devices are IP68 and IP69 certified for water and dust resistance, tested to last for as long as 30 minutes in 1.5 meters of water. So, longevity will not be a determining factor here.

Price Difference

vivo V50 costs ₹34,999, while the V50e costs ₹28,999. The ₹6,000 price difference accounts for the better display brightness, quicker performance, better camera setup, and slightly more premium build of the V50. But if you are on a tighter budget, the V50e remains a great value.
