Sony Xperia 1 VII: Sony has officially launched its new flagship, the Xperia 1 VII, via an online event. This flagship smartphone delivers advancements in display brightness, camera features, and audio quality. Sony maintains its legacy of prioritizing professional-level photography, video features, and superior audio experience in a sleek, attractive design, which separates it from other crowded flagship models.

Display and Design

The Xperia 1 VII has a 6.5-inch FHD+ LTPO OLED screen with a 1-120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch scanning rate. It has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, which is very similar to its predecessor but now provides 20% more brightness. There is an extra light sensor on the rear that assists in optimizing screen brightness and color reproduction according to lighting conditions. The screen is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the rear also receives Gorilla Glass Victus.

Performance and Software

With the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and 12GB RAM, the Xperia 1 VII provides industry-leading performance. It features vapor chamber cooling for heat management and comes with Android 15. Sony promises 4 OS updates and 6 years of security updates, with assurance of long-term software support for users.

Camera Features

This device also features its 52MP Exmor T rear sensor and a 12MP periscope telephoto lens with 7x zoom. The most significant new addition is the improved ultra-wide camera, now a 48MP 1/1.56-inch sensor—2.1 times larger than the previous one—providing minimal distortion and even macro shots at 5cm. AI Camera Work and Auto Framing ensure professional-looking captures by maintaining the subject centered even while it is moving.

Sony highlights its Walkman heritage in the Xperia 1 VII with fresh sound circuit components to enhance wired headphone output.
