SamsungGalaxy S26+ : Samsung will be changing plans for the Galaxy S26 series next year. Rather than the Galaxy S26+, Samsung will discontinue it and bring out a new thin Galaxy S26 Edge phone. This follows after Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 Edge some time back, which just so happens to be the thinnest Galaxy S phone ever made at a thickness of 5.8mm.

Why Samsung Is Considering This Switch

The reason a changeover such as this would be possible is sales figures. Galaxy S25+ would be sold at around 6.7 million units, and that is much lower than the 13.6 million of the standard Galaxy S25 and the 17.4 million of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It is due to the difference that Samsung is wondering if it would be wiser to provide the limelight for the Edge model.

Galaxy S25 Edge Success Puts Decision in Doubt

Samsung’s choice, nonetheless, will depend on the pace of sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge. That is, if the public welcomes the thinner Edge phone and turns it into a best seller, Samsung will phase out the S26+ and bring in the S26 Edge. If the Edge phone does not sell in the market, however, Samsung will retain the Plus model for the next series.

Galaxy S26 Series Under Development

The Galaxy S26 series is already in development for Samsung. Their codename “NPA” is ready and they are now getting set to launch four different OLED display units of the future smartphone. This final set would largely rely upon the popularity gained by the buyers for the Galaxy S25 Edge.

What This Means for Samsung Fans

In short, Samsung is making a huge leap with its Galaxy S line in 2026 by eliminating the Plus model and releasing an Edge variant in its stead instead. It goes to illustrate the manner in which the firm is hearing and adapting its strategy accordingly.
