Design and Operator Integration

The AI Edition is differentiated from the regular Neo 7 Turbo, carrying the China Mobile branding on the rear panel, which adds to its exclusive nature. It is also bundled with some China Mobile apps and services pre-loaded, which makes it a more country-centric offering to users in the nation. A key difference is the personalized home screen experience. To swipe left on the home screen is to open a special panel featuring China Mobile’s “Mango Card Club,” a portal dedicated to private operator-sponsored content.

China Mobile Services Built-In

The Mango Card Club feature enriches the overall experience with the packaging of major entertainment and productivity services. They consist of Mango TV, Migu Video, Migu Sports, and Migu Quick Games, in addition to cloud storage integration. The AI Edition, as described by Realme, focuses on five major experiences: performance, idol friendship, e-sports, cloud storage, and social networking. This customization, carried out by the operator, provides the device with a different taste from its standard counterpart.

Specifications Stay the Same

In spite of the new branding and features, hardware specs are the same as those of the original Neo 7 Turbo. The phone uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset and comes with a 6.8-inch flat OLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. A 7200mAh battery powers the phone with 100W fast charging support for extensive usage and rapid top-ups. On the camera side, the phone boasts a 50MP primary sensor with OIS complemented by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter for everyday photography requirements.

One characteristic feature of the Neo 7 Turbo series is the transparent back, which the AI Edition also follows. The rear panel features NFC coil elements, etched textures, and the DART emblem, giving it a futuristic touch. The phone also features 4608Hz high-frequency PWM dimming for eye comfort, IP69-rated water resistance for ruggedness, and the new Realme UI 6.0 software for an improved user interface.

Price and Availability

The AI Edition only comes to China and has the same price plan as the regular Neo 7 Turbo. The 12GB+256GB version comes at launch for 1,999 Yuan (~$280), and the 16GB+256GB variant for 2,299 Yuan (~$320). The higher storage tier is represented by 12GB+512GB for 2,499 Yuan (~$350) and 16GB+512GB for 2,699 Yuan (~$380). With these aggressive prices, the Neo 7 Turbo AI Edition provides tailored software benefits without any hardware upgrade cost.

Verdict: Same Hardware, More Personalization

The Realme Neo 7 Turbo AI Edition does not necessarily revolutionize performance or specs, but its China Mobile-tuned features bring a more localized and personalized touch. For Chinese users seeking smooth integration with operator services in addition to the dependable hardware of Realme, the AI Edition may be an enticing option to the Neo 7 Turbo standard.
