Oppo Find X9 Pro: Oppo is set to release its next flagship, the Find X9 Pro, and a new leak has revealed some exciting information about its camera features. Designed to replace the Find X8 Pro, this device is expected to feature a triple rear camera system, with significant differences in hardware and sensor selection that could potentially transform Oppo’s vision of mobile photography.

Triple Camera Setup Confirmed

Following a Weibo tip by popular tipster Digital Chat Station, the Oppo Find X9 Pro is reportedly abandoning the quad-camera layout of its predecessor in favor of a high-performance triple-camera setup. This configuration is said to consist of a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a whopping 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, dramatically changing Oppo’s flagship photography design.

Samsung ISOCELL HP5 Sensor for Periscope Zoom

The highlight of the arrangement is reported to be the 200MP periscope telephoto sensor known as the Samsung ISOCELL HP5. The 28nm sensor is likely to feature Dual Conversion Gain HDR (DCG-HDR) for better dynamic range in difficult lighting. The HP5 sensor would have a 1/1.56-inch size and may deliver 10x zoom quality, likely on par with or even outperforming some DSLR-level zoom images. 

Comparison to Find X8 Pro’s Dual Periscope Setup

The Find X8 Pro had a complicated four-camera module, with two periscope lenses, something very unusual even for flagships. While the Find X9 Pro downgrades this to a single 200MP periscope sensor, sources indicate that overall camera performance could still compare. But some question whether the sole periscope configuration will be able to keep up with the flexibility of the dual-periscope arrangement on the X8 Pro.

Other Expected Features and Specs

Apart from the camera, the Oppo Find X9 Pro is rumored to come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen. Inside, it is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, with the promise of flagship-level performance and power efficiency. It will reportedly be released alongside the Find X9, X9 Plus, and X9 Ultra in China later in 2025, perhaps in Q4 2025.

A Bold Move in Flagship Strategy

Oppo’s move away from a quad to a triple-camera system, led by a high-megapixel periscope lens, indicates a new emphasis on slimmed-down yet feature-packed camera systems.
